The IFG is working hard to make sure we keep the festival relevant and successful for many years to come. Our mission: Enriching lives by preserving traditional music through performance, education and outreach. The IFG is structured with four major committees that work in concert to build a strong organization, Performance. Education, Outreach and Fundraising. Each has a defined purpose that will ensure the success of the organization and festival for many years to come.
PERFORMANCE: Continue to make the IFG one of the premier music festivals in the world. Expand the IFG reach if through special concerts, house concerts, artists in residence, and a greater social media presence.
EDUCATION: Expand the After School Arts Program (ASAP) to allow for multiple instruments and more students. Develop an IFG Roots Music camp to run the week before the IFG. YouTube teaching channel.
OUTREACH: Develop traveling IFG exhibits to tour the state. Grow each committee by 5 volunteers. Increase social media presence.
FUND RAISING: Grow memberships by 200 each year for the next five years. Develop the "250 by 50" campaing. $250,000.00 raised for these programs by the 50th anniversary of the IFG in June 2022.
Opportunities to help develop or volunteer will be available soon. Please consider how you might be able to help pass the music on.
